Poster with the coats of arms of the members of the Lanzagorta Otxoa family, from Jalisco, Mexico, all designed by their bearers and by Juan Lanzagorta Vallín and emblazoned and signed by me, exhibited at the 5^th International Congress of Genealogy and Heraldry (5^th ICGHV), Vilnius. The 5^th ICGHV was held at the historic National Museum - Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and was organized by the Genealogijos, Heraldikos ir Veksilologijos Institutas. This family armorial composition presents ten personal coats of arms, each one created for a specific member of the family, while preserving a shared visual and heraldic language. The arms are those of Iker Lanzagorta Ochoa, Teresa Otxoa Magaña, Ixai Lanzagorta Ochoa, María de los Ángeles Carrillo Padilla, Itziar Lanzagorta Ochoa, Alejandra Espeja Amieva, the youngest granddaughter of Jon Lanzagorta Vallín, Juan Lanzagorta Vallín himself, the eldest granddaughter of Jon Lanzagorta Vallín, and Andrés Cruz Carballo.

Round seal, a lion sejant. Circular motto: «Signum Fernandi Regis Hispanorum».

Sello rodado, un león sentado. Divisa circular: «Signum Fernandi Regis Hispanorum».

Existing seal interpreted by me as follows: the shape of the seal is circular; the motto is written in sable on its outer ring; inside, a seated lion that begins to be rampant and will eventually become so; y the whole rendered in flat sable ink; y the result is an impression in azure ink.

For the outline of the lion I have followed the round seal of the king in his «Charter of Benavente» [Fernando II de León; 1167], in which I consider the lion to be seated; although it could also be interpreted as rampant, or as intending to be so, as it will ultimately appear in the arms of his son, King Alfonso IX of León.

For the delineation of the motto I have followed the round seal of the king in his «Charter of the Alfoz of Benavente» [Fernando II de León; 1181], in which the lion, unlike the previous one, is clearly in a passant posture.

In [Martín Fuertes, J. A.; 2002] four other round seals of King Fernando II of León can be consulted:

• from the year 1160 (A.C. de León, number 4168) with a lion passant,
• from the year 1165 (A.C. de León, number 1041) with another lion passant,
• from the year 1168 (A.C. de León, number 170) with a lion statant, also described as arrested or at rest, as mentioned in [Avilés, J.; 1725a; page 37] and [Avilés, J.; 1780a; page 42].
• from the year 1187 (A.C. de León, number 1067) with a lion passant and regardant, that is, with its head turned toward the sinister side of the round seal, a posture described, for example, in [Avilés, J.; 1725a; page 55] and [Avilés, J.; 1780a; page 61].

G0084: the coat of arms of Heidi Garcia-Bosch-de Morales-de Sola née Adriaensen, of France, as granted by the Chief Herald of Arms of Malta and emblazoned by me for this grant. In this case, my way of drafting the blazon in English and in Castilian is not exactly the same. In English, when a tincture is specified after several charges or ordinaries that have not yet been assigned one, that tincture applies to all the preceding elements concerned; here, Or applies both to the bend sinister and to the inescutcheon. In Castilian, on the other hand, I do not need to state expressly that the inescutcheon lies over the bend sinister. The bend sinister crosses the centre of the shield, while the inescutcheon, approximately one third of the width of the field, is itself placed centrally. A heraldic artist will therefore understand that the inescutcheon necessarily lies over the bend sinister. By its size and position, it cannot cover the triangle or the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which are placed in base. In the blazon, I specify in square brackets the origin of each part of the arms. In this case, the two halves have different origins: the dexter half is familial, indicated as «[for Adriaensen]», while the sinister half derives from a specific grant, indicated as «[granted by Bourbon-Parma]». I use these notes to distinguish clearly between inherited family arms and arms originating in a particular grant.
