She is an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She studied Marine Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao (1991–1995), and the marine motifs reflect both her academic training and career. The dolphin on the shield refers to her Puerto Rican heritage, her birthplace in Fajardo, and her personal value of honor. At her request, the shield ends in a semi-circular arch, in keeping with Hispanic heraldic tradition. The three escallops symbolize her family and her compassion. She currently resides in Houston, Texas, which is why the owl in her crest holds a bluebonnet (Lupinus texensis), the state flower of Texas since 1901. The owl represents her profession and her wisdom. A small gold heart on the chain pendant indicates her cadency as first daughter.

The heraldic badge of Kimberly Louise Severson designed by her and emblazoned by me. I have painted 3 heraldic badges for Kimberly Louise Severson: the first featuring 2 Easter lilies and Aslan's paw print, the second featuring a cross bottony, and the third, rather than a heraldic badge, depicting her earliest personal emblem with a harp and other elements. This is the first badge I painted for her. The photograph shows two stages in the development of an Easter lily used as a supporter of the badge of Kimberly Louise Severson. The translucent tracing paper shows two successive hand-drawn versions of the flower, illustrating the progression of the artwork. Above them appears the finished digital rendering of the badge in its final painted form, accompanied by its two Easter lilies proper. The image documents the transition from the hand-drawn sketches to the completed artwork.

Coat of arms of the lineage Terraza of Aragon, emblazoned by me following the instructions of Enrique de Alzaga Aliena. The fleur de lis ~ «flor de lis» is a stylized or idealized lily. The lily ~ «lirio» is the flower itself, of which there are various species. The Madonna lily ~ «azucena» is a specific kind of lily; I do not call it white lily to avoid redundancy when it is Argent ~ «plata».
