The full achievement of Jean-Christophe Loubet del Bayle emblazoned by me, accompanied by the French incunabulum that inspired the armillary sphere of its crest. Rather than designing a modern armillary sphere, I based it on the woodcut illustration printed on folio a iii of Compost et Kalendrier des Bergères, published in Paris by Guy Marchant on 17 August 1499, Marchant, G.; 1499. This remarkable incunabulum, preserved today in the Historical Library of the Complutense University of Madrid, combines astronomy, astrology and practical knowledge through more than eighty woodcut illustrations. Reinterpreting one of these engravings in heraldic form allowed the crest to preserve not only the symbolism of the armillary sphere but also a tangible connection with the artistic and scientific tradition of late fifteenth-century France.

The image shows a photograph of the Times of Malta newspaper announcing and presenting the lecture on Ecclesiastical Heraldry delivered by Dr. Charles A. Gauci, Chief Herald of Arms of Malta. The lecture was highly interesting, and I was honoured that Dr. Charles A. Gauci included 28 illustrations of ecclesiastical heraldry that I had painted under his guidance. The illustration beneath the newspaper headline depicts the arms of Monsignor John Muscat, Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, emblazoned by me, which I have included alongside the photograph for easier identification.
